We just got a grant from Aptos to work on Aptos Move Lint, their static analysis tool for Move contracts.
We came in thinking Scout might be the fit. But with Aptos Move Lint already up and running, it made more sense to plug in and improve what’s already there. We are already working to add security detectors and making the tool more useful for builders on the chain.
If you missed it: Move security is having a moment. And yeah, Sui ≠ Aptos, but the language is still new across the board, and catching issues early matters a lot more than reacting to them later.
We’d already written about Move and how to get started with it. Now we’re looking at real code from Aptos projects, trying to help make the tools smarter and the bugs less sneaky.
