As we wrap up the 2025 season, we want to thank every player who competed, especially those who made it to the LA Championship. The competition was fierce, and it was amazing to see so many talented players battling it out. Congratulations to DanTheMan on earning the title of 2025 VeeFriends TCG Champion.

To everyone who played in VeeFriends TCG this year: thank you for your time, effort, and commitment to the game.

With the 2025 season complete, we’re sharing what’s coming in 2026. This includes updated prize support, a more refined tournament and championship schedule, and clarity on the future direction of VeeFriends TCG. These updates are focused on strengthening the competitive experience, supporting committed players, and making the game better for both current and new competitors.

Premium Prizes for Top Finishers

In 2026, we will have stronger prizes for all tournaments and will be upping the grand prize for the winner of the VeeFriends TCG Championship. Competitive decks aren’t cheap, and winners who invest their time, skill, and strategy deserve prizes worth bragging about.

Three Official Tournaments Culminating With the 2026 Championship

In 2026, VeeFriends TCG will move to a streamlined tournament structure with three qualifying events that award leaderboard points and lead into the Championship. Below are the events where players can compete for their spot:

Qualifier #1 — March 2026 — Texas Meetup (Lufkin, TX)
The 2026 season begins in Texas with a community-driven event hosted alongside iBenKind and Wh1skyjak. This is the first opportunity of the year to earn leaderboard points and start the path toward the Championship.

Qualifier #2 — July 2026 — San Diego Comic-Con
VeeFriends will be at San Diego Comic-Con for the first time. The weekend will include an official VeeFriends TCG tournament, giving players a chance to compete at one of the largest pop culture events in the world.

Qualifier #3 — Late July / Early August 2026 — The National (Chicago)
The final qualifying event takes place at The National 2026 in Chicago. This will be the last chance to earn leaderboard points before the Championship in October.

The 2026 Champion Will Be Crowned In October

With player feedback, we’re moving the 2026 VeeFriends TCG Championship to October. The new timing gives the season more room to build and delivers a stronger, more exciting finish.

Players who rank within the top tier of the leaderboard will earn Championship qualification, with additional spots reserved for players outside the leaderboard.

How The 2026 Leaderboard Will Work

In 2026, the VeeFriends Play Network will remain the place to track rankings, build decks, and apply to host VeeFriends TCG events in your local community.

One change for 2026: community-hosted sanctioned events will no longer award points toward the official Championship leaderboard. Leaderboard points will only be earned at the four VeeFriends-hosted tournaments.

This approach creates a simpler, more transparent qualification path, while keeping community events focused on local play, practice, and connection.

An Exciting Road Ahead For VeeFriends TCG In 2026

While we’ve explored different ways to expand gameplay in the past and will continue to do so, our 2026 vision is focused: strengthen the game as it exists today and continue to grow the player base. Our priority is onboarding new players who are excited to learn, collect, and compete.

Stay tuned for more details as we approach the new season, and once again, congratulations to all who participated in 2025 and our new 2025 champion, DanTheMan!
